HeartSaver AED
This course is designed to teach the basic techniques of adult CPR and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). The student will also learn about using barrier devices in CPR and giving first aid for choking. At the completion of this course, the student will have the necessary skills to use an AED. Class duration: 4 hrs Course Objectives: Describe the links in the AHA Chain of Survival Describe how to activate the local 911 system
Recognize the signs of four (4) major emergencies Demonstrate skills on the AED, pocket face mask and telephone Demonstrate how to trouble shoot the most common problems you might encounter while using an AED Mouth-to-mask ventilation and proper usage of barrier devices One-rescuer CPR
