Healthcare Provider




cpr class in Houston This course is designed to teach adult, child and infant, foreign body airway obstruction, two-rescuer CPR, barrier devices, and automated external defibrillator (AED). Healthcare Provider is required for all healthcare professionals.

Class duration: 6-8 hrs; Re-certifications: 2 hrs.

Course Objectives:

cpr Houston Perform all the objectives for both adult and pediatric basic life support courses
List three causes for stroke
Explain the usage and principles of the automated defibrillator
Demonstrate the following skills on a manikin:
Mouth-to-mask ventilation
One-rescuer adult and pediatric CPR
Two-rescuer adult and pediatric CPR
Relieving foreign body airway obstruction
Proper usage of barrier devices
Principles and usage of the automated defibrillator

HeartSaver

This course is a guide for administration of adult CPR, first aid and choking for use during Basic Life Support HeartSaver Course or learning CPR independently.

Class duration: 4 hrs.

Course Objectives:

List the major risk factors of heart disease and discuss prudent heart living
State the warning signs of a heart attack
Explain how to activate the EMS system
Demonstrate the following skills on a manikin
Recovery position
Rescue breathing
One-rescuer CPR
Foreign body airway obstruction management for the adult victim

This course is a designed for teaching the individual layperson adult, child and infant CPR and first aid for choking, empowering them with basic lifesaving skills.

Course duration: 4 hrs

Basic Life Support Instructor

An AHA Instructor Course is designed to teach the methods needed to effectively instruct others in resuscitation courses. The AHA recommends that Instructors be at least 16 years of age.

Course duration: 16 hours (2 day course)

The ideal candidate will be
Motivated to teach
Motivated to facilitate learning
Motivated to ensure that students acquire the skills necessary for successful course completion
Views student assessment as a way to improve individual knowledge and skills

Prerequisites:

All prospective participants in an Instructor Course must have current Provider status in the discipline the candidate whishes to teach.

A completed Instructor Candidate Application must be provided to the Course Director for approval before the Instructor Course.

Course Completion:

Candidates must demonstrate satisfactory performance of lectures, scenarios, interactive case presentations, skills presentations, proper use of video-based learning and skills in student testing, assessment, and remediation.
Candidates must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of course organization; course content, including appropriate BLS skills; and Instructor responsibilities; as well as the AHA guidelines for the specific discipline.
BLS Instructor candidates must achieve a score of 84% or higher on the BLS Instructor Course written examination.
