CEVO (Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator II: Ambulance)
CEVO
training is presented in a flexible, modular, easy-to-use training format
(a complete in-house driver training program).
The course is designed to demonstrate how to conduct a series of
specific exercises, such as serpentine driving (backward and forward),
backing to the right and left, backing with an assistant, etc., to test the
operator's ability to drive the vehicle smoothly, judge spatial relations
(distance and clearance), maximize the use of mirrors, and communicate
with other squad members. Also includes a vehicle inspection segment.
Time: 4 - 6 hours
Ambulance Operator Training Course Content:
- Comprehensive coverage of collision-prevention techniques, including cushion of safety, scanning, vehicle positioning, handling blind spots, safe backing and parking procedures, and more
- Coverage of a wide range of other safety-related topics, including vehicle inspection, vehicle handling and design characteristics, emergency and non-emergency driving differences, and safety at the emergency scene
- The non-lecture, participant-intensive educational approach
